We’re fucking pissed. It’s hot. There’s smoke in our eyes. And people are STILL going about their lives like everything is fine. Yes, we know that many people feel the emergency just like we do – but collectively, we’re sleepwalking off a cliff and it’s terrifying.
If you’re as pissed as we are you might achieve a soothing moment relief after spending a few hours absolutely peppering your neighbourhood with brightly-colored warning signs.
Postering is a perfect summer activity. We recommend biking off to a new neighbourhood then putting up some posters before riding home. You can get some exercise, scratch that itch to explore AND take action on climate change all at the same time.
What posters should I put up? We designed these three as a series that will hopefully work together to push people from ignoring the problem to taking meaningful action.
You can download them here: IGNORE, KNOW, DO.

We also designed a poster calling out RBC for their absolutely obscene fossil fuel financing, if you feel like figuratively punching RBC in the nose.

You can download the RBC poster here.
You’re also welcome to design your own climate poster or use one from another organization and post those for your entry.
What’s the prize? We’ll mail a $100 Fresh gift certificate or another vegan-friendly restaurant to whichever team puts up the most posters before September. (Fresh is not a sponsor of this contest or Climate Pledge Collective).

How does the contest work? Put up posters alone or with a few friends. Name your team, take a photo of at least one poster you put up and then email it to us along with the total number of posters your team has put up. If you go out for a second session, you can email us an updated total. We’re going to trust you on the numbers — although if you say you put up 30,000 posters we might go have a look around at the area you claim to have postered.
To enter: send an email to contact@climatepledgecollective.org with a photo of at least one poster, a team name and the total number of posters your team put up. You can also tag us on twitter or instagram with the same info.
On September 1st or shortly thereafter we’ll see which team has put up the most posters and then notify the winner.
POSTERING TIPS:
- Many local stores will let you put up a poster in their window or on a bulletin board – this is great way to get a LOT of eyes on each poster you put up.
- If there are wooden telephone poles or construction hoardings in your neighbourhood a staple gun is your friend.
- If not, we recommend packing tape for a small number of posters or a batch of wheat paste for a larger number.
- Bring a friend.
